Uniform Policy
The Ash Grove School uniform holds significant importance in fostering a sense of belonging and community among our students.
Please see below the policy on uniform and expectations of what is and isn’t acceptable.
School Uniform
· Navy Blue polo shirt (with school logo) OR plain Dark Blue T-shirt (with school logo)
· Navy Blue sweatshirt (with school logo).
· Navy Blue or black skirt or trousers.
· Navy Blue or Black shorts (in summer).
· Plain black shoes or trainers. White Trainers must not be worn.
· Pupils will not be allowed into school wearing hoodies, tracksuit tops, ¼ zips or coats even if these are under school uniform (these items, along with coats, will be stored securely for pupils).
· Pupils must wear either a Navy Blue polo shirt (with school logo) or a Navy Blue T-shirt (with school logo) and NOT their own t-shirts, sports tops or football shirts.
General Expectations
· Shoes should be sensible, black with a low heel (high-heeled shoes and crocs should not be worn, pupils will not be allowed into school wearing these due to health and safety).
· Black tights must be worn with a skirt.
· Students are requested not to bring large amounts of money or valuables into school.
· Extremes of fashion in hairstyles and colours will not be allowed (natural hair colours only).
Jewellery is permitted unless it represents as a safety hazard in a busy school community and/or during a particular activity. Examples of jewellery considered unsafe include large signet/studded/gemmed rings, long neck chains and large earring hoops, however these are just some examples and the Headteacher will make the final decision.
· Drinks and snacks will not be allowed into school, these will be held for pupils and returned at the end of the day (pupils receive toast and juice between 9-9:30, are offered drinks throughout the day and have toast at break time at 11:00).
· Mobile phones will not be allowed in school, these will be stored safely for students and returned at the end of the day.
